Doubling Down On Creators: Welcoming Billy Parks to Slow Ventures!

I'm excited to officially welcome Billy Parks to the Slow team as a Venture Partner supporting our creator investment strategy – backing the next generation of community first entrepreneurs.

Billy joins us from The Chernin Group and has spent his career at the intersection of the creator, media, and consumer worlds, helping them back iconic creator-led businesses like Barstool, MeatEater, Cars & Bids, and Epic Gardening.

At Slow, Billy will focus with me on finding, investing in, and supporting creators as we transition from early explorations in providing capital to an overlooked class of entrepreneurs to a fully productized investment strategy seeding creators.

We’ve learned a lot over the past two years and couldn’t be more excited about supporting this new pattern of entrepreneurship. In addition to growing our team, I am thrilled that we have decided to significantly increase our committed capital for creators and double down on this thesis over the coming years.

Today, we’re at a pivotal moment where digital talent is moving beyond platforms, endorsements, and advertising revenue to become full-fledged founders. Creators are leveraging their audiences to build companies that challenge industry giants. Having someone with Billy’s experience share our enthusiasm for this future and additional capital to support this thesis is a significant step in our journey, and we couldn't be more excited.
